#TransatlanticSolo2013 – @CharliePitcher on BBC Essex
Charlie Pitcher speaking live from the middle of the Atlantic on BBC Essex, as he battles to beat the World Record of rowing solo in less than 40 days.
With 910 miles to go he says he’s on the ‘home run’ after suffering a bout of sickness for 24 hrs he’s on track to arrive in Port St. Charles, Barbados early next week.
As well as hoping to achieve a new World Record, Charlie is raising funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, which needs to raise over £50 million every year to enable Great Ormond Street Hospital to provide world-class care for its young patients and their families www.gosh.org; and The C Group, the purpose of which is to raise awareness and generate practical support throughout the business community for Royal Marines, particularly those who are suffering the long-term effects of injuries sustained on operations www.cgroup.org
Charlie REALLY needs message of support which you can leave on the face book page www.facebook.com/transatlanticsolo or email amy@transatlanticsolo.com and you can track Charlie’s fantastic progress at transatlanticsolo.com
