Chef’s from across London and further a field gathered at The Red Lion in Barnes and pitted their culinary wits against each other at the inaugural #GreatSausageRollOff. ‘Sausage’ rolls of all shapes, sizes and fillings were scrutinised by the wonderful panel of judges, Chef, presenter and author of Pig: Cooking with a Passion of Pork, Johnnie Mountain, journalist, style blogger, broadcaster and documentary-maker, Kate Spicer, and Charles Campion renowned food critic, who has written in The Times, The Independent, the Evening Standard and Celebrity MasterChef, supported by the incredibly talented host someALEiere Melissa Cole. She knows how to control an unruly mob!

The sausages arrived in groups of four in four separate heats. The sausage rolls were judged blind, so the judges didn’t know whose sausage roll was whose.
